Amsterdam Fashion Week Photographer — A Visual Diary for METAL Magazine
During Amsterdam Fashion Week 2026, I documented the city through a series of images created for METAL Magazine — moving between backstage, front row and the streets of Amsterdam.
From the intimate moments behind the scenes at Tess van Zalinge, Fortanier and Lichting, to the people arriving at the shows and the energy surrounding Fashion Week, the project became a visual diary of the week as I experienced it.
Rather than focusing only on the runway, I wanted to look at everything happening around it: the waiting, the preparation, bodies in motion, clothes being adjusted seconds before a show, quiet moments backstage, unexpected encounters and the very personal way Amsterdam approaches style.
There is something about this city that feels instinctive rather than overly constructed. Fashion exists here with a certain ease — individual, diverse and often slightly imperfect — and that was what I wanted to preserve in the photographs.
This edition also marked METAL Magazine’s first participation in the official Amsterdam Fashion Week programme, making the collaboration particularly special.
The complete story has now been published by METAL as:
