Some sessions leave an immediate mark. This one with Fran was one of them.
From the moment he arrived, there was something about him that caught my attention in a very natural way. His height, the harmony of his body, that almost perfect balance between delicacy and presence, made him impossible to ignore. But beyond what was obvious, there was something even more interesting: his distance. A kind of beauty that did not give itself away completely. A quiet, contained presence that made every gesture feel more intriguing.
He followed every direction with a surprising sense of ease. Not because of experience, but because of instinct. As if his body already understood the language of image-making before fully stepping into it. Looking at these photographs now, it is hard not to think that part of his future was already there: the discipline, the tension, the elegance, the way he moved inside the frame.
The black and white images carry a restrained intimacy. The light cuts across his face and body with a soft severity, turning every shadow into part of the story. There is something sculptural in his profile, in the tilt of his head, in the way his body folds and stretches across the room. The closeness of some of these portraits creates an almost suspended feeling, as if we are seeing not only a beautiful body, but also an early version of something that was about to unfold.
In color, everything feels closer. The skin becomes warmer, the white sheets soften the scene, and the black underwear brings a simple and perfect contrast. Fran appears there somewhere between stillness and strength, between the softness of youth and the determination of someone who was already beginning to take his place. His gaze, sometimes distant and sometimes direct, holds that beautiful tension between vulnerability and control.
Some bodies photograph well. Others, even in their early moments, already carry a story.
Today Fran is moving through Europe, working as a model, carrying a bag full of dreams like so many do at the beginning. And I can only feel happy to have been there, in one of those first chapters, when everything was just starting and beauty still carried the feeling of discovery.
