Peter in London. A personal note by Nico Quinteros
London was exactly how I imagined it.
Beautiful, chaotic, grey, alive. A city made of brick, history, noise, rain, parks, old streets and stories that seem to be waiting around every corner.
For years, London existed in my imagination before it existed in my life. It was the city I saw in my English books when I was a kid in Patagonia, trying to understand another language, another world, another possible future. Back then, it felt impossibly far away, almost fictional.
And then, somehow, there I was.
Walking through London with my camera. Photographing in streets I had once only seen in books, films and magazines.Standing in a city full of history, doing the thing I love most.
From Patagonia to London.Even writing that feels unreal.
This editorial with Peter carries that feeling. It is not only about the images. It is about the moment behind them. The quiet shock of realizing that life had taken me somewhere I once thought was unreachable.
Peter had the kind of presence I always look for when I photograph someone: calm, open, physical, but never forced. There was something very natural in the way he moved through the city, between brick walls, wet gardens, old fences and soft grey light. He did not need to overperform. He allowed the camera to come close, and that is where the story started to breathe.
London gave us texture. Peter gave us presence. The camera found the space between both.
The series moves through intimacy, street, skin and silence. Some images feel raw and urban. Others feel softer, almost private, as if the city had stepped back for a second and allowed something more fragile to appear.
That is what I love about photography: sometimes you think you are only taking pictures, but later you understand you were documenting a crossing. A place. A body. A version of yourself arriving somewhere new.
This editorial became part of that journey.
A boy from Patagonia, who once learned English from school books, now photographing a model in London for a visual world he built with his own hands.
It still feels strange. It still feels impossible. But there I was.
And there was Peter.
This story also marks a new chapter for VOYEUR MAG, the visual magazine I am relaunching as a space for male beauty, intimacy, fashion and queer desire.
